Any of these names would be used with either 'Radio' or the area name such as 'Berkshire' on the beginning or end of them to relate them to what we are achieving which is a local radio station.
Ideas that we have come up with are...
Live
This name suggests an upbeat radio station through 'live' giving the sense of an atmosphere. It is short and to the point therefore making it a memorable name for the audience.
Airwaves
This name links in with the theme of radio however it does also bring the idea of aeroplanes and flying to mind therefore perhaps not the best name to use as people could be unsure of what it represents if they haven't heard of the station before. It is also a chewing gum brand which therefore adds another element of confusion for this name and takes away individuality.
Transmission
This links to the radio theme and gives the idea of tunes being played, it is an effective name and would be remembered by the audience. However it is quite a long name and with either the area name or 'radio' being added onto the beginning or end it would make it even longer therefore not so effective.
Play
Play is short and effective, it is relevant to music due to the idea of having to press 'play' when wanting to listen to music. It would also be easily remembered by an audience.
Beam
This name suggests a constant flow and a bright element, it is also short and effective. Another aspect of the name is a thought of happiness through 'beam' being another word for smile; it therefore has to ways to view the name making it more creative and individual.
We will now use audience feedback to help us decide which is the most suitable name for our radio station; audience feedback is the most useful information due to them being unbiased and having the best idea of what is suitable for the market due to them being our consumer.
